Ukrainian Armed Forces for the first time showed how command and staff vehicles for AHS KRAB artillery systems work
The Armed Forces of Ukraine received command and staff vehicles along with KRAB self-propelled artillery units for them. They are designed to provide the chief of staff, battery commander and firing platoon commander with information support.
What we know
The vehicles are based on the chassis borrowed from the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery units on tracked chassis. The development was done by the Polish company Huta Stalowa Wola under a Soviet license.
The command and control vehicle received a modern G4 power unit, new seats for the driver and hydrostatic transmission. All this was developed by the German company Flensburger Fahrzugbau GmbH. The Military Production Center was also involved in the reconstruction.
The vehicle has two names: Lekkie Chassis Gąsienicowe and Wóz dowodzenia - Light Tracked Chassis and Command Vehicle respectively. The first prototype appeared in the fall of 2009. In November 2012, four vehicles entered service in the Polish Army.
