Fighting game from Riot Games will be conditionally free of charge

Riot Games is developing a fighting game, code-named Project L. The game team published a production diary, which revealed important details - the monetization system.

Project L will be a free-to-play game. Here's what they say about it in the latest video:

If you've played Riot games, it's not going to be a surprise. Our team is made up of fighting game veterans and people who really want to give back to the genre community. We create everything with one rule: if we don't like something, we won't do it. When it comes to monetization, we promise to be respectful of your time and wallet.
Tom Cannon, Senior Project L Manager

In a separate text blog, Riot talked about one of Illaoi's fighters. This character is already in League of Legends, but he was still put through an internal process called DNA (Designer, Narrative Writer, Artist) - experts from three different fields were deciding how Illaoye plays in Project L, what story role he plays, and what he looks like .

The gameplay on Illaoy in Project L has been described as a "juggernaut with a huge body." The heroine delivers devastating mid-range strikes if you let her overrun the initiative. One of Illaoi's current combat features works like this: if she successfully strikes her opponent, spectral tentacles are summoned, causing additional damage. However, it is possible that Illaoi's techniques won't change yet.

Project L has no launch date yet. Riot Games promises to publish more material about the game by the end of the year.
