Sony Xperia 5 IV: compact flagship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, 5000 mAh battery and triple 12 MP camera for $999
Sony, as promised, held a presentation on September 1, which showed the new flagship smartphone.
Here's What We Know
The novelty was called Xperia 5 IV. The smartphone is the successor to the Xperia 5 III and a smaller version of the Xperia 1 IV. The gadget is equipped with a 6.1-inch screen with OLED matrix, a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. According to the manufacturer, the panel is 50% brighter than in the previous version. The novelty also boasts the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and an increased battery to 5000 mAh. The battery supports 30W fast charging and wireless charging.
As for the cameras, there are four in the novelty: a triple main with 12 MP module and a single front 12 MP. The Xperia 5 IV comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. The smartphone has a lateral fingerprint scanner, IP68 protection, a 3.5mm jack and stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, DSEE Ultimate and 360 Reality Audio. The smartphone is covered on both sides by tempered Gorilla Glass Victus.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Sony Xperia 5 IV will start selling in the US and Europe in mid-September. The novelty will cost $999 or €1049.
