Estonia will buy Polish Piorun MANPADS: they can destroy planes, helicopters and UAVs at distances up to 6.5 km

Estonia plans to sign an agreement with Poland on the purchase of Piorun man-portable air defense systems.

This is reported by the Polish publication Defence24. The contract may be signed as early as next week. We are talking about several dozen MANPADS and hundreds of missiles for them.

Recall that the Piorun is a surface-to-air missile system produced in Poland. It is designed to fight low flying targets: planes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. It can be used by one person. Piorun weighs 16.5 kg and has a range of 500-6500 meters.

Incidentally, the AFU uses Piorun MANPADS in the war against Russia. Ukrainian defenders have repeatedly shot down enemy UAVs and helicopters.
