Apple for the first time in history took more than 50% of the U.S. smartphone market

Apple still managed to achieve that the share of the iPhone in the U.S. smartphone market exceeds the total share of all other manufacturers. The corresponding statistics was recorded at the end of the second quarter of 2022.

Here's What We Know

Apple controls more than half of the U.S. smartphone market for the first time in its history. It took the Cupertino company 15 years to do this. Moreover, we are talking about the number of active users, not the volume of sales of devices. Since 2018, the share of the iPhone in the U.S. has grown by about 15%.

But in the global market, Android leaves no chance for iOS, even despite the slight decline in share. Thus, from 2018 to 2022, the share of Android smartphones decreased from 77% to 70%. In turn, Apple models now occupy 25% versus 20% of the market in 2018. In the premium segment Apple leads, generating 57% of all revenue.
