Eurofighter Typhoon sets record for continuous flight during longest reconnaissance mission

Two Eurofighter Typhoons of the Italian Air Force conducted a long reconnaissance, surveillance and reconnaissance mission that set a new continuous flight record.

Here's What We Know

The pair of fighters was able to spend eight hours in the sky over Iraq. This result was achieved through aerial refueling thanks to tankers that were deployed in the region. The mission was the longest in Iraqi airspace.

The Italian Air Force Eurofighter Typhoons were stationed at an airbase in Kuwait, where they were sent back in 2019 for Operation Inherent Resolve. In Kuwait, the fighters replaced AMX and Tornado aircraft. This was the first use of Italian Eurofighter Typhoons outside the country.
