People Can Fly announced that Take-Two refused to cooperate. Before that, they had been developing the game Project Dagger for two years together

On its website, the Polish studio People Can Fly, which gave us Bulletstorm and Outriders, reported that the publisher Take-Two refused to continue working with the developers. During the cooperation, the game Project Dagger was developed, the rights to which now fully belong to People Can Fly.

Here's What We Know

This agreement concerned Project Dagger, a new action-adventure game that has been in development for the last 2 years. The studio reported that Take Two did not declare its intention to buy back the intellectual property rights to the product. Thus, People Can Fly is the sole owner of Project Dagger and will develop the project on its own.

Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO of People Can Fly, said that everyone parted on good terms, and the studio sees no reason why it would not be possible to work with Take-Two on some other project in the future. The developers strongly believe in the potential of Project Dagger and intend to continue its development. The game is still in pre-production. The team is currently focused on the transition from Unreal Engenie 4 to Unreal Engenie 5. The team is also ready to cooperate with a new publisher if it creates attractive business opportunities.

Flashback

Project Dagger is one of seven projects currently under development by People Can Fly. The company is also developing Gemini, a new project with Square Enix. Bifrost and Victoria are both games that will be released exclusively by the developers. The project at the concept stage is Red. And also two games for VR - Green Hell VR and adaptation of one of the studio's IPs.

When We Can Expect It

The release of all these games is currently unknown.
