What a twist: Adaptive Transparency for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max in iOS 16.1 beta turned out to be a bug

We wrote the other day that Apple was testing Adaptive Transparency in the iOS 16.1 beta for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. Apparently, that's not the case.

Here's What We Know

According to insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, this is a bug in the system. That is, you should not expect Adaptive Transparency in AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

Flashback

Adaptive Transparency debuted with the new AirPods Pro 2 TWS earphones. It allows you to block loud sounds while Transparency mode is activated. For example, a siren, the sound of a jackhammer, etc.
