Bethesda has confirmed that Deathloop takes place in the same universe as Dishonored. Fans have been guessing about this for a long time thanks to the clues that the developers left in the game

For a long time, fans have been building theories that the events of Deathloop and Dishonored from Arkane Studios take place in the same universe. As it turned out, the players were right, because the studio confirmed these guesses.

Here's What We Know

Creative Director Dinga Bakaba announced the news during an Xbox podcast, confirming that Deathloop is one of the variations of the future world of Dishonored.

Bakaba explained that the game has a number of systems that mean that not everyone has seen the same thing in Deathloop, not everyone has heard the same song hidden somewhere and not everyone has seen every room. So it was nice to see how the community picked up on the little clues that the team scattered everywhere.

The studio didn't want to give obvious hints because Deathloop is its own story, with its own characters and its own time period.

Characters in the game specifically avoid certain names or cities to confuse players, but elements such as the time tower icon on the Heritage shotgun made it clear that the events do take place in one dimension.

And Bethesda on its Twitter showed art that officially combines Deathloop and Dishonored.

Flashback

Deathloop is a next-generation first-person shooter from Arkane, the studio behind Dishonored and Prey. In the game, Colt and Julianna, two rival assassins, find themselves trapped in a mysterious time loop on the island of Blackreef. Now they are doomed to repeat the same day forever. The only chance of escape for Colt, the character players play as, is to complete the loop by killing eight key targets before the day ends. If players fail to complete the task, they will have to live the day from the beginning.

The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Sereis X|S and PC. As well as in the Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra subscription.
