Boston Dynamics Spot and Xiaomi CyberDog Competitor: OPPO Announces QRIC Robops

In 2016, Boston Dynamics introduced the four-legged robot Spot, which looks very similar to a dog. In 2021, Xiaomi picked up the idea and developed a robot called CyberDog. And now this collection of robot dogs is ready to join the company OPPO.

Here's What We Know

There has not been an official presentation, but OPPO has published a video teaser showing a robot dog called QRIC. This is an abbreviation for Quadrupedal Robotic with Intelligent Controller, which translates as "four-legged robot with an intelligent controller.

It is able to walk, jump, somersault, carry objects and controlled by a smartphone, recognize people using front sensors or act as a webcam for video calls.

A fascinating video tells the story of a boy who plays with QRIC and builds a toy space rocket.

The full QRIC presentation will take place on December 14 at the OPPO Inno Day 2022 - then we will know all the details about the novelty.
