The flagship Huawei P11 will get a cutout display, like the iPhone X

Huawei quickly caught the main trend in the smartphone market and in just a few months presented five models with a screen of 18: 9 for every taste and purse. And the next generation of company flagships will be even more frameless. As the craftsmen with XDA Developers found out, in Huawei P11 the company will reduce the top edge of the display to a small ledge in the center.

Interesting discovery

When studying the firmware code, specialists found configuration files and images that darken certain areas in accordance with the form of the screen of the future smartphone. Proceeding from this information, the ledge from above should look like a golden mean between the "monobrow" of iPhone X and the ledge of Essential Phone:

Apparently, the smartphone will receive a 6.01-inch display Samsung EA8074 CMD TFT with a resolution of 2160x1080 pixels. At the same time, the size of the loading and charging animation measures 2244x1080 pixels - this is probably done for more efficient use of space by applications, if they are not optimized for gadgets with cutouts. The ledge itself will hide the self-camera and the speaker, but it does not look like there will be room for a new face recognition system with an analog animoji in such a small space.

Huawei P11 appears under the code name EMILY. He will receive a proprietary Kirin 970 processor with artificial intelligence. This chip is already used in the flagship devices Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro (overview), as well as Honor View 10. Among the firmware files, the Easy Projection application was found that turns a smartphone into a kind of desktop computer when connected to a large screen. Confirm whether the rumors about the triple camera gadget - is unknown.

When the announcement?

Since the presentation of Huawei P10 was held at the MWC 2017, a new model can be presented at the same event next year. Mobile World Congress will be held from February 28 to March 1.
