The 2017 MacBook Pro laptops are officially recognised as vintage Apple products
Apple has added new models to its Vintage Products List.
Here's What We Know
These are the 2017 MacBook Pro laptops with Touch Bar and screen diagonal of 13 and 15 inches. Apple has also added a mid-2015 model of the 15-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar to the Vintage Products List. This model was sold until 2018.
A device becomes vintage 5 years after the end of its sale. Such products are no longer repairable at Apple Stores and Apple Authorised Service Centres, with service dependent on parts availability.
Incidentally, the upcoming macOS Sonoma update is compatible with MacBook Pro models 2018 and newer.
As for Touch Bar, laptops with this feature debuted in 2016. Apple returned to physical function keys in 2021. To date, the 13-inch MacBook Pro is the only model available with Touch Bar.
