Silent announcement of Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018): entry level

Samsung's main announcements for CES 2018 are devoted to TVs and artificial intelligence technologies. In the meantime, the Vietnamese office of the company quietly launched sales of the budget smartphone Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018), rumors about which went not for the first month.

Modest, but inexpensive

Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro version of 2018 received a 5-inch display Super AMOLED with a resolution of only 960x540 pixels. At least, the matrix without PenTile. The heart of the gadget was a quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz (apparently it's Snapdragon 425). The RAM is 1.5 GB, and the capacity of the built-in drive is 16 GB (the user is available 9.7 GB).

And the main 8-megapixel camera, and the front 5-megapixel module are supplemented with a flash. The battery capacity is modest 2600 mAh, although with autonomy everything is relatively good. The manufacturer promises up to 14 hours of video playback or 10-12 hours of web surfing (depending on the connection - 3G, Wi-Fi or LTE). In the talk mode, the full charge will last for 18 hours. Even in the two-part version, the microSD card slot is separate.

The device comes with Android 7 Nougat, covered with a proprietary shell. The functions of the protected folder and duplication of applications for communicating in messengers under different accounts are supported.

What is there with the price?

In the Vietnamese market Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) can already be bought for about $ 145. If to compare with the prices for other models, we will have a new product worth more, closer to $ 200. Among the competitors - Huawei Nova Lite 2017 (fingerprint scanner, slightly more RAM, metal case) and Xiaomi Redmi 5 (all of this plus a large screen 18: 9).
