Apple Watch with watchOS 10.1 Beta 1 update now has NameDrop functionality
Apple has announced watchOS 10.1 Beta 1 for Apple Watch owners.
Here's What's New About It
The beta version of the firmware has a new feature - NameDrop. It allows you to quickly exchange contacts between smart watches and iPhone. To do this, you need to bring the gadgets to each other. By the way, the NameDrop function debuted in the iPhone with the release of iOS 17, but for some reason in the stable version of watchOS 10 it was not added.
Also in the code watchOS 10.1 Beta 1 mentions Double Tap for Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, but it is likely to be added in the next test builds of the system.
When We Can Expect It
watchOS 10.1 Beta 1 is already available for developers to install. The open test version of the software will be released a little later.
By the way, besides watchOS 10.1 Beta 1, Apple today also announced macOS Sonoma 14.1 Beta 1 and iOS 17.1 Beta 1.
