The U.S. has authorised the export to China of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 gaming graphics cards priced at $1600 or more.

Recently, it became known that the United States banned the export of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards to China. However, a few days later, the American authorities changed the decision.

Here's What We Know

The new export restrictions affected the A800 and H800 chips, which were created specifically for sales to China due to the ban on shipments of A100 and H100. Along with it, GeForce RTX 4090 was included in the list, but a week later the gaming graphics card disappeared from the list of products whose export to China is banned.

Along with the GeForce RTX 4090, NVIDIA has removed another chip from its report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. It's about NVIDIA L40 professional accelerator, which can now also be shipped to the Middle Kingdom.

But the ban on exporting the L40S, A100, H100, A800 and H800 remains in effect. Moreover, the new rules began to take effect immediately, not from 16 November 2023, as originally planned.
