New face of Gmail: the postman is preparing to change the design

It is expected that at the Google I / O 2018 developer conference the search giant will present a new version of the material design, the elements of which can already be seen in Android P (rounded corners, even more white). Gradually, all Google services will lead to a single style, and we already know what the updated Gmail mail will look like.

What's new?

Screenshots of the Gmail web interface were published by our colleagues from Android Authority. The main page will become even lighter (by itself, you can play font fonts and select a color theme). Users will have three options for displaying emails. In the standard, the names and type of attachments are visible, the second style removes these notes, and for the maximum information density there is a third, compact form:

In the web version of Gmail, the functions already known to us by Inbox will appear. First, users will be able to postpone the letters for a certain period of time, after which they will appear again in the list. Developers will also add support for automatic responses:

When?

Google has already notified administrators of G Suite that users of corporate services will be able to test the new design of Gmail "in the coming weeks." Concerning usual users of the information while is not present, but the final version of mail it is necessary to wait not earlier than Google I / O 2018 .

Later this year, Gmail will also learn how to work offline without installing extensions and additional settings.
