Huawei already tests Android P on Mate 10
Google released Andorid P Developer Preview in early spring. Firmware can be tested on smartphones Pixel / Pixel XL, Pixel 2 / Pixel 2 XL, as well as on "smart" watches Huawei Watch 2 . But now there is information that the Chinese manufacturer Huawei is also testing a new OS on the flagship Mate 10.
What is known
The company is testing Andorid P on the Chinese version of Mate 10 (ALP-AL00). But the craftsmen from the resource XDA-Developers were able to port the new assembly to Mate 10 Pro. It was possible, thanks to the support of Project Treble in the smartphone. The firmware does not have a new design (Material Design 2), gesture controls or the ability to include a cut-out like the iPhone X. But it features a new version of EMUI 8.2, the Easter eggs of Android P and several chips of the new OS. Most likely, after the final release of the operating system, the shell will be updated to the version of EMUI 9.0.
When to expect
Naturally, the official release of the firmware for Huawei Mate 10 or Mate 10 Pro should not wait until the fall. After all, only in the third quarter will the final version of Android P.
