Fans will be in for a treat: the first footage of Return to Silent Hill, the film adaptation of the second instalment of the cult Japanese horror series, has been unveiled

Publisher Konami presented an atmospheric teaser of the film Return to Silent Hill, which will be an adaptation of the second part of the cult Japanese horror film.

Here's What We Know

In the footage shown, Silent Hill fans will easily recognise key scenes from the 2001 game. James Sunderland's journey begins in the famous public lavatory, where the hero looks wistfully and doomedly into the mirror and rereads a letter from his wife Mary, who died three years ago. She asks her husband to return to the small town where they once had a great time.

The trailer features the legendary Akira Yamaoka tune, which played in key scenes of Silent Hill 2 and emphasised the eerie atmosphere of the game.

The main role in "Return to Silent Hill" will be played by Jeremy Irvine, and the role of James' wife will be played by Hannah Emily Anderson. The film will be directed by Christophe Gans, the director of the first Silent Hill film.

The premiere of the film will take place "soon". Recall, on the 8th of October is expected the release of Silent Hill 2 remake from the Polish studio Bloober Team, so these two events are likely to coincide in time.
