HarmonyOS has become more popular than iOS in China - Huawei's new operating system is second only to Android
A few years ago, in response to US sanctions, Huawei created the HarmonyOS operating system. It is now more popular in China than iOS.
Here's What We Know
In the first quarter of this year, HarmonyOS surpassed iOS for the first time. Its share is 17%, which is 1% more compared to the mobile operating system of the American company Apple. The popularity of HarmonyOS increased approximately twice compared to the same period last year.
It is worth noting that Huawei's operating system was able to move into second place thanks to the falling popularity of iOS, whose share in the reporting period was 16%. A year earlier iOS occupied 20% of the market.
The undisputed leader in the Chinese mobile operating system market is Android with a share of 68%. If we talk about the global scale, the "green robot" controls 77% of the market. iOS and HarmonyOS have shares of 19% and 4% respectively.
