ADATA has announced the release of the world's first SD 8.0 Express memory card, which offers read speeds of up to 1600 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1200 MB/s.

Here's What We Know

The new card uses PCIe NVMe Gen 3 interface and NVMe data transfer protocol, making it 12 times faster than UHS-I memory cards and 4 times faster than UHS-II. The card supports U3 and V30 speed classes, enabling efficient 4K video recording, fast RAW image processing and multi-tasking.

The card is currently only available in a 512GB variant, but the company plans to expand the lineup later. The device features LDPC ECC technology and has been rigorously tested for resistance to water, shock, static electricity and extreme temperatures. This ensures reliable data protection.

Despite the impressive specifications, the cost of the card has not yet been disclosed, but it is expected to be high.
