New Windows 11 ARM-powered laptops perform poorly in real-world tests
Information has emerged about the performance of the latest notebooks powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors running Windows 11 ARM operating system. The first user reviews and benchmark results do not meet the expectations created by the advertising campaigns of Microsoft and Qualcomm.

The main tool for assessing performance, the Geekbench benchmark, showed results that are significantly lower than claimed. User @lafaiel, who received a Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge for testing, reported scores of 1,829 points in the single-core test and 11,537 points in the multi-core test, which are inferior to those presented at press events - 2,977 and 1,5086 points, respectively. Moreover, @lafaiel noted that the single-core performance is even lower than that of the iPhone 12 Mini.
It is speculated that this performance gap could be due to the use of different versions of the Snapdragon processor or Samsung's aggressive trotting mechanisms that limit performance to prevent overheating.
The performance impression of the device also desires better, especially in games. For example, a frame rate drop was noticed in Resident Evil Village. However, a subsequent software update improved the situation.
This data indicates that the product may not yet have reached the level promised in the advertising campaigns and that the software platform may need further optimisation. Perhaps further improvements will optimise the chipset in the system, leading to the performance results originally promised.
