ByteDance, the developer of Tiktok, is testing a new app called Whee, which is reminiscent of Instagram
ByteDance, a company known for its popular TikTok app, has unveiled a new social app called Whee, which resembles Instagram.
Here's What We Know
The Whee app is already available for download on Android devices, but so far only in a limited number of countries. Whee is described by the developers as "a new social app designed to keep in touch with close friends through spontaneous moments in life." Users can share real-life photos with friends, but unlike Instagram, Whee is geared towards more personal interactions, allowing only friends to see and interact with photos.
Am I the first one to report this? Bytedance, the developer of Tiktok, is testing a new app called Whee. It's currently not available in the US but it is live in over a dozen countries.https://t.co/iNVQlVQ5C2https://t.co/n9rKnrHovE

This move by ByteDance is surprising given the recent launch of TikTok Notes, another Instagram-inspired app. While the features are similar, Whee offers a more intimate approach to photo sharing. It's not yet clear if Whee will be available globally or if it's just a test aimed at exploring the market.
The Whee app, can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. The app is reportedly available in over a dozen countries.
