Microsoft deliberately does not name clear release dates for its future games to avoid competition with Grand Theft Auto 6

At the beginning of June, Xbox showed many interesting games, including Fable, Gears of War: E-Day and Doom: The Dark Ages. However, it is unknown when these projects will be released, and GTA 6 is to blame.

Here's What We Know

Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty said that Microsoft did not specifically name clear release dates.

"I think a lot of people in the industry will certainly be building their plans around GTA 6, and we're all looking forward to this game, which is going to be amazing. Of course, everyone in the industry wants to make sure they don't get overshadowed by someone else's big release," explains Matt Booty.

Another reason is that Microsoft has many internal studios, and releases need to be planned so that each game has its own "star time".
