Google is working on expanding voice choices for its Gemini voice assistant on Android

Google offers two voice assistants on Android: Google Assistant and Gemini. While Google Assistant is available with twelve voices, Gemini has only one voice option. However, according to the news, the company is working on expanding the choice of voices for Gemini to meet all user preferences.

A post on X/Twitter indicates that the latest beta version of Gemini for Android contains a new option called "Gemini Voice" in the app's settings. This option is not currently active, but it confirms that Google intends to add more voices to Gemini in future updates.

Additionally, the latest beta version of Google's Android app includes a "Voice Choice" feature for general settings. This allows users to choose a voice for language answers in search, such as "Ruby" for English and "River" for German. This is different from the Gemini Voice and Assistant Voice and Sounds that are available for Google Assistant.
