The latest Windows 11 version 24H2 update has caused problems for Dell users. Owners of devices with the Dell Encryption application version 11.10 or earlier installed have had difficulty shutting down or hibernating their devices. Instead, the computers go into power save mode, which prevents the system from shutting down completely.

Here's What We Know

Dell has already offered a solution: update Dell Encryption to version 11.10.1 or later. The update should happen automatically, but if it doesn't, users can download the new version from Dell's website. Before installing, it is recommended that older versions of software such as Dell Data Protection and Dell ControlPoint Security Manager be uninstalled and data backed up.

This shutdown issue is one of many that users have encountered after the Windows 11 24H2 update. Microsoft has confirmed several other bugs and has suspended distribution of the update until the issues are fixed.
