Nintendo has announced the postponement of the Alarmo alarm clock launch in Japan, which was originally scheduled for January. This is due to "production and inventory issues".

Here's What We Know

Alarmo, a lifestyle gadget with motion sensors and tunes inspired by Nintendo franchises such as Mario and Zelda, is already available in Europe and America exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. In Japan, high demand has led to the creation of a lottery system for subscribers, and new pre-orders opened in mid-December for delivery in February 2025.

Plans for a wider release in January have been postponed indefinitely for Japan, and no revised timeline has been provided. It is unclear whether this will affect European plans.

The delay comes as Nintendo is reportedly preparing to launch its next console, the Switch 2, which is expected to be unveiled by March 2025. Analysts suggest that Nintendo will not reveal details about the production schedule of the new console until next year.
