Apple has announced the launch of Tap to Pay on iPhone in the United Arab Emirates.

Here's What We Know

This feature allows private entrepreneurs, small businesses, and large retailers to use the iPhone as a payment terminal.

Tap to Pay allows you to accept payments via Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards, and digital wallets. All transactions are encrypted, and Apple does not receive any information about the customer or the purchased goods. No additional hardware is required to use it - just NFC and a compatible iPhone (XS or later).

The first payment platforms in the UAE to support Tap to Pay were Adyen, Magnati, and Network International. The feature works with American Express, Mastercard, and Visa cards.

Launched in the US in February 2022, Tap to Pay is now available in 20+ countries, including Ukraine, the UK, Japan, and Germany.
