An insider has revealed the specs of MediaTek's new Dimensity 8400 chip ahead of its announcement on 23 December
MediaTek is preparing to unveil a new Dimensity 8400 chip that will be part of the 8000 series. Ahead of the announcement, which is expected to take place on 23 December, Digital Chat Station insider revealed the specifications of the new processor.
Here's What We Know
According to the leak, the processor will be built on TSMC's 4nm process and will get a new architecture with eight Cortex-A725 cores replacing the A5xx cores. The configuration includes one 3.25GHz core, three 3.0GHz cores and four 2.1GHz cores. The Immortalis G720 MC7 GPU will be clocked at 1.3GHz.
The chip scored 1.8 million points in the AnTuTu benchmark, which is a significant improvement over the previous Dimensity 8300-based models. The Dimensity 8400 is expected to be used in the Redmi Turbo 4 smartphone, which will be released early next year. This chip will replace the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 used in the previous model.
The Redmi Turbo 4 is expected to get a 1.5K resolution flat screen, ultra-thin bezels, glass back, plastic bezel, optical fingerprint scanner, 50-megapixel camera and a 6,500mAh battery.
