The editors of the popular gaming portal GameSpot could not avoid summarising the year 2024 and presented their own top ten games.

According to GameSpot the best game of 2024 was JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio from the creators of Persona series. Journalists justified their choice in this way:
Metaphor: ReFantazio would remain an exceptional game regardless of when it is released. But in 2024 - a year marred by political unrest, growing inequality, fear, distrust, misinformation and division - no game seems quite as relevant and necessary. And while not every work of art can change the world or instil a kindness that has seemingly evaporated, Metaphor: ReFantazio is a reminder that art can change us.
