Polish studio 11 Bit Studios, known for such games as This War of Mine and Frostpunk, has announced a staff reduction and cancellation of development of its project called Project 8.

Here's What We Know

In a statement, the company said that the cancellation of Project 8 is due to the need to optimise resources and adapt to changing market conditions. The studio stressed that this is a difficult step, but it is necessary to ensure the company's stability in the future.

Project 8 was announced as a new console project, but details about its plot and gameplay remained in the shadows. Now 11 Bit Studios will focus on supporting and developing its existing games, including Frostpunk 2 and The Alerts.

Due to the cancellation of Project 8, the Polish publisher lost $11.5 million. Half of the developers will be offered new roles in The Alters team, while the rest of the employees will be laid off. However, the exact number of laid-off employees was not disclosed.

The only thing we know about Project 8 is a 9-second teaser that shows a stone building somewhere in space.
