According to a well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the company is also preparing a smartphone based on Dimensity 8400, and it will be the Realme Neo7 SE model

Here's What We Know

This device may join the already announced Neo7 series, but it is worth noting that this year the brand decided to abandon the GT prefix in the model names.

Although there are few details about the characteristics of the Realme Neo7 SE, we can expect that it will be located in the brand's lineup slightly below the standard Neo7, which means more affordable options and functionality. Official details and exact specifications have not yet been disclosed, but the company promises to share more information in the near future.

MediaTek has introduced the new Dimensity 8400 chipset, the first mid-range Android smartphone chipset in its class with a processor consisting only of large cores. And immediately afterwards, Redmi announced that its Redmi Turbo 4 will be the first smartphone to use the new chipset, with a release in January 2025.

However, unlike the standard version, the Redmi Turbo 4 will be equipped with a customised version of the chip - Dimensity 8400-Ultra, as Xiaomi often adds the "Ultra" suffix to MediaTek chips for its models.

The Dimensity 8400 aims to provide high performance in budget models, in particular for mid-range devices that can demonstrate the performance of flagship models. It is effectively MediaTek's answer to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Elite chip, which is also expected to hit the market.
