The Black Hawk Down story campaign will be released for the conditionally free-to-play shooter Delta Force in January 2025 and will be offered for a small amount of money.
Gamedesigner of the shooter Ricky Liao reminded about the plot and told what to expect from the additional story.
Here's What We Know
Black Hawk Down events will unfold in the capital of Somalia Mogadishu in the early 90's. An American military helicopter crashes there and a squad is sent to help the crew, which gets into the centre of hostilities.
The developers have acquired a licence to use materials from the Ridley Scott film of the same name and will reflect some of its scenes in the game.
Ricky Liao emphasised that the story campaign of Delta Force (2024) may remind gamers of Delta Force: Black Hawk Down (2003), but it is not a remake of it, but only shows the same events from a new angle.
The developers want to provide players with an immersive experience and a set of challenging missions with unique challenges and situations, with Liao choosing not to reveal the length of Delta Force's story campaign, stating that:
The experience can't be described as completely single-player, as you can join forces with friends. It all depends on your skills and play style. It's hard for us to calculate the terms and give a specific figure [hours].
Those who buy the Black Hawk Down story will receive special bonuses in Delta Force multiplayer modes, but they won't give an advantage over other players, but will be more of a cosmetic item.
