According to a Korean insider, Apple is probably preparing to release a completely updated version of the Magic Mouse that will support touch and voice commands.

Here's What We Know

This was reported by Korean insider "yeux1122", referring to information from Bloomberg.

The new product is expected to be released in 2026.

The updated mouse design will become more ergonomic and solve a number of problems that users have encountered, in particular, the location of the charging port. Although Apple switched the mouse from Lightning to USB-C a few months ago, the charging port remained on the bottom of the device, which makes it difficult to use the mouse while it is charging. According to rumours, the new version will move the port to a more convenient location.

Apple seems to be developing a prototype of the new Magic Mouse that combines touch control, voice commands, and hand gestures. This approach should greatly facilitate interaction with the computer, responding to the latest user needs. The new Magic Mouse is likely to be released alongside the new MacBook Pro with an OLED screen and M6 chip in 2026.

The mouse hasn't undergone any significant changes since 2009, so a redesign is highly anticipated. There have only been a few major updates since then: replacing AA batteries with a built-in rechargeable battery in 2015, new colours to match the iMac palette in 2021, and a switch to USB-C in 2024.

Recently, it was reported that Apple may not be able to release the first bezel-less iPhone by 2026 as previously planned. Apple had hoped that mass production of this technology would begin by 2026 for the iPhone 18, but according to insiders, negotiations with suppliers are still ongoing. This means that the release of the "bezel-less" iPhone model is likely to be delayed.
