NVIDIA officially unveils next-generation graphics cards: RTX 50-series specifications and pricing revealed
NVIDIA has officially unveiled the RTX 50-series GPUs.
Here's What We Know
At the CES 2025, the largest technology show in the world, which runs until 10 January in Las Vegas, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang made a presentation of the next-generation GPUs and revealed their technical parameters.
Thanks to the application of AI, neural shaders and DLSS 4, the performance of the new graphics cards will be doubled compared to the 40-series.
As reported by insiders, the new graphics cards are slightly more compact than the previous series, equipped with two dual fans and 3D Vapor Chamber. All RTX 50 series cards have received PCIe Gen 5 interface and DisplayPort 2.1b ports, allowing to connect displays with resolutions up to 8K and 165Hz.
RTX 5090
The flagship GeForce RTX 5090 received 32 GB of GDDR7 video memory, 1792 GB/s bandwidth and 21,760 CUDA cores.
Thanks to the new DLSS 4 technology and Blackwell architecture RTX 5090 card is twice as productive as the similar card of the last generation (RTX 4090).
However, the RTX 5090 has higher power consumption: it will be 575W and will require a 1,000W power supply, which is 125W more than the RTX 4090.
NVIDIA demonstrated the difference between the cards with Cyberpunk 2077 as an example
RTX 5080
The RTX 5080 graphics card has 16GB of GDDR7 memory, 960GB/s bandwidth and 10,752 CUDA cores.
The RTX 5080 will have a power output of 360W and requires an 850W power supply.
The performance of this GPU is double that of the RTX 4080.

RTX 5070 Ti
The RTX 5070 Ti graphics card features 16GB of GDDR7 memory, 896GB/s of bandwidth and 8960 CUDA cores.
The GPU will have a total power output of 300W and requires a 750W power supply.
RTX 5070
The RTX 5070 will have 12GB of GDDR7 memory, 672GB/s bandwidth and 6144 CUDA cores.
The said graphics card will require 250W and a 650W power supply to run properly.
Importantly, the RTX 5070 will be able to achieve the performance of the RTX 4090 - this will be possible thanks to DLSS 4 technology.
NVIDIA also announced RTX 50 graphics cards for notebooks as well
- RTX 5090 for notebooks will have 24GB of GDDR7 memory;
- RTX 5080 - 16GB GDDR7;
- RTX 5070 Ti - 12GB GDDR7;
- RTX 5070 - 8GB of memory.
The first laptops with RTX 50-series graphics cards from different manufacturers will appear in March 2025.
