Development of indie shooter Fortune's Run halted: developer gets three-year prison sentence
The development of Fortune's Run, a first-person shooter, has been suspended. The game, which was released in early access on Steam in September 2023, is now in limbo after the developer received a three-year prison sentence.
Here's What We Know
Initially, Fortune's Run received regular updates, but the situation changed when one of the developers underwent a major operation, which slowed down progress. After that, another team member decided to leave the project, declaring his lack of interest in game development.
In a post on the game's Steam page, the only remaining developer shared the sad news: "I received a three-year prison sentence. It's a long story, but I lived a very different life before I became a game developer." He also noted that the game's development will be completely halted until he is released.
Despite the difficulties, he expressed his desire to complete the project: "I want to finish this game, but I don't know what will happen next."
