Streaming service Netflix is rapidly gaining popularity and already boasts a huge number of subscribers.

Here's What We Know

The company published a financial report for the fourth quarter of 2024, from which it became known that the number of subscribers to the online cinema has passed 301 million people.

Analysts Netflix expected that the audience of the service will increase by 9.18 million people during this period, but the real figures were twice as much - 18.91 million (an increase of 15.9% compared to 2023).

Most of all new Netflix subscribers live in the U.S. and Canada - 4.82 million people paid for the subscription there, and from Europe, the Middle East and Africa the total inflow of users was 5 million people, while South America provided an inflow of 4.15 million subscribers, and Asia - 4.94 million.

There's no denying that Netflix is one of the most entertaining online movie theatres, but such success has been fuelled by several major premieres, including the thriller Carry-On and the second season of Squid Game, which became the most successful series in Netflix's history. It racked up more than 330 million views - that's almost 2.8 billion hours. Many viewers were also attracted by the exclusive broadcast of the boxing fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.

As a reminder, Netflix raises prices: now the premium plan costs $25, but these changes apply to only a few countries many regions.
