The popular streaming service Netflix has announced another round of price increases that will primarily affect the US market. The company plans to increase the subscription price amid record growth in the number of users.
Here's What We Know
In the fourth quarter of 2024, Netflix attracted 19 million new subscribers, the largest quarterly increase in the company's history. The success is attributed to original content, in particular the second season of Squid Game, which has garnered more than 165.7 million views.
The new tariffs look like this:
- Advertising plan: from $7 to $8
- Standard plan without ads: from $15.50 to $18
- Premium plan (4K): from $23 to $25
Currently, the increase will affect the US, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina. Netflix explains the changes by the need to reinvest in content and improve the service.
