Here's What We Know
The main contribution to this success was made by Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which became one of the biggest hits of the holiday season. According to Ampere, in November 2024, the Call of Duty HQ platform, including Black Ops 6, attracted 38 million monthly active users, which drove strong sales in December.
Interestingly, 64% of players' spending on Microsoft games in December was on PlayStation, which underscores the correctness of the company's multi-platform strategy. Electronic Arts took the second place among publishers with revenue of $366 million, driven by EA Sports FC 25.
It is also worth noting the success of Chinese publishers: Marvel Rivals, created by NetEase, attracted 29 million active users in December, and Path of Exile 2 by Tencent brought in $148 million in revenue. These achievements demonstrate the growing influence of Chinese companies in the global video game market.
