Activision has officially acknowledged the use of generative AI to create some game components in the Call of Duty franchise. This information was published on the game's Steam page following Valve's demands for transparency about the use of AI in games.

Here's What We Know

Players have long suspected that Activision uses AI to generate cosmetic items in Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 6. Recent examples included festive loading screens and collectible maps that showed signs of generative AI, such as zombies with 6 fingers and other design anomalies.

Although Activision did not specify which components were generated by AI, the presence of this statement on the game's page confirms players' suspicions. Some players have expressed frustration that they had to play for hours to unlock AI content that they consider to be of low quality compared to traditional art.
