Retroid's Pocket Classic console will be released on 17 March: the company has revealed the price and specifications of the gadget

Retroid has revealed the launch date for its new Pocket Classic handheld retro console, which will be a reincarnation of the iconic Nintendo Game Boy.

Here's What We Know

Everyone will be able to purchase the Retroid Pocket Classic from the 17th of March at a price of $114 and $124 depending on the storage capacity of the device.

Earlier we reported that the retro gadget will get a 4″ square screen and does not provide for analogue sticks, making it incompatible with some games.

Now the company has revealed the specifications of the gadget, but without mentioning the exact processor model:

  • screen: 3.92", AMOLED, 1240×1080 pixels, 500 nits
  • processor: 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon, active cooling
  • memory: 4/6GB LPDDR4x-2133 RAM, 64/128GB eMMC 5.1 ROM, microSD cards
  • battery: 5000 mAh, 27W charging
  • OC: Android 14
  • connectivity: USB-C, 3.5mm, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1
  • Dimensions: 138×89.8×26 mm, 223 g.

The Retroid Pocket Classic will go on sale in seven vibrant colours, including one translucent variant.

The console is designed to natively run games from systems such as the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis and Game Boy.
