Silent Hill f producer Motoi Okamoto expressed concern that the Silent Hill series was beginning to lose its Japanese flavour, becoming too Western. To bring the series back to its roots, the team decided to create a game that is 100% Japanese.

Here's What We Know

Silent Hill f will be the first game in the series to be set in 1960s Japan. The script is written by Ryukishi07, a well-known author of visual horror novels such as Higurashi When They Cry. It is being developed by Taiwanese studio NeoBards Entertainment, and the characters and monsters are designed by Japanese artist Kera.

Okamoto noted that the Silent Hill series has always been a combination of Japanese and Western horror. However, over time, the Japanese influence began to diminish. Therefore, the team decided to go in the opposite direction and create a game that fully reflects the Japanese atmosphere.

And I thought: "What if we go in the opposite direction and make it 100% Japanese horror? And this game is the result.

Composer Akira Yamaoka, who worked on all the main parts of the series, emphasised that the games have a certain Japanese essence that cannot be reproduced by non-Japanese creators. According to him, this adds a sense of novelty for people outside Japan.

So now we just have to wait for the announcement of the release date and plunge into the Japanese horrors that have been prepared for us.
