The news is not good for Looney Tunes fans: all the original animated shorts from 1930 to 1969 have been removed from Max streaming service owned by Warner Bros. Discovery's Max streaming service.

Here's What We Know

Although the original Looney Tunes is no longer available, some modern spin-offs remain on the platform. Among them:

  • six seasons of Looney Tunes Cartoons in 2020, two seasons of New Looney Tunes in 2015 (although the third season and some episodes of the first season are missing)
  • two seasons of Baby Looney Tunes from 2002
  • four episodes of the podcast Looney Tunes Presents: Bugs and Daffy's Thanksgiving Road Trip in 2021
  • two seasons of Tiny Toons Looniversity from 2023 and the related 42-minute special Tiny Toons Looniversity: Spring Break (although the winter special is not available)
  • five seasons of The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries from 1995
  • two seasons of Bugs Bunny Builders in 2022.

Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery shut down the Cartoon Network website and discontinued the Boomerang service, which mostly broadcast classic cartoons. In addition, the company abandoned the Coyote vs. Acme project due to high production costs and sold The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Story to independent distributor Ketchup Entertainment.
