Foxconn to start production of AirPods in India in April

Foxconn, one of Apple's key manufacturing partners, is preparing to start assembling AirPods at its plant in Hyderabad, India, in April 2025. It is reported by Press Trust of India.
Here's What We Know
It is not yet known what models of headphones will be produced in India, but all products are intended for export to other countries. The decision to produce AirPods in India was made back in 2023, and now Foxconn is ready to start this stage.
The expansion of production in India is part of Apple's strategy to diversify its supply chain. In recent years, the company and its partners have been gradually expanding production in countries such as India and Vietnam. Some iPhone and Mac models are already being produced there.
Nevertheless, China and Taiwan remain Apple's main production centres, and the company is still largely dependent on their production capacity.
Recently, Apple released a trailer for the film Someday, which features the new AirPods 4 headphones with active noise cancellation. The trailer was released on 16 March, and the full-length version will be available on YouTube this Tuesday, 18 March.
The film will star actor Pedro Pascal, who is known for his roles in The Mandalorian on Disney+, The Last of Us on HBO, Narcos on Netflix and more. In the new advert, Pascal embodies the main character, demonstrating the capabilities of the new AirPods 4, including their active noise cancellation features.
