The Game Bakers studio, known for its Furi and Haven games, has announced the release of Cairn not only on PC but also on PlayStation 5 in 2025.

Here's What We Know

Cairn is a realistic mountain conquest game where players control the climber Aava as she ascends the dangerous Mount Kami. The game offers an authentic climbing experience with intuitive mechanics and music from the team behind Limbo and Inside.

Cairn is not just a game about mountaineering, but a real survival game on the mountain. Players have to plan their route, manage resources and use tools to ensure the safety of the climb. The game offers an open world where you can climb anywhere and choose your way to the top.

The game has two modes: historical and expedition. In the first, players go through the history of Aawa, and in the second, they can choose their climbing style and compare results with other players.

Cairn features not only realistic climbing mechanics, but also high-quality visuals by renowned comic artist Matthieu Bablé and music by the team that worked on games such as Limbo, Inside, and Control. So the game has no problems with the atmosphere.

The game is already being jokingly described as Dark Souls in the world of mountaineering games, and PC players can verify or refute this by trying a free demo on Steam.

The exact release date of Cairn is still unknown.
