Shortly after Samsung was Samsung has become the world's largest soundbar and TV brand in 2024, holding that title for 11 consecutive years, it was revealed that the company had released an update that radically disrupted many models of these devices, including the flagship Samsung HW-Q990D, as well as the HW-Q800D and HW-S801D.
Here's What We Know
Samsung has acknowledged the problem and promised to fix it as soon as possible. But, as a company representative explained to Digital Trends, it won't be possible to solve the problem by releasing another update. To return the soundbars to working condition, the technique will have to either send to a service centre, or call a specialist at home.
In any case, Samsung will assume reimbursement of the cost of repairing the devices, regardless of warranty status, and apologises.
Samsung Electronics has identified a software bug as the cause of an operational issue affecting some 2024 soundbars. We are taking immediate action to resolve the situation. Samsung is offering free repairs for all affected devices - regardless of warranty status.
However, there may be difficulties with the repair, as TechRadar reports that Samsung has not yet notified all service centres and support services of the situation. And in addition, the repair requires a new motherboard, and Samsung does not have a sufficient stock of these components.
