iPhone 17 Air may get 12 GB of RAM - more than all iPhone 16 models
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared new details about the upcoming iPhone 17 series. According to him, the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air model will have 12 GB of RAM, the same as the flagship iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Earlier, he predicted that only the Pro Max would get the most RAM.
Kuo also suggests that even the basic iPhone 17 could be equipped with 12GB of RAM, but only if Apple can cope with current supply chain constraints. The company should make a final decision on this by May.
For comparison, all models in the current iPhone 16 line have 8GB of RAM. The move to 12 GB will be a significant improvement that will have a positive impact on overall performance, multitasking, and the operation of new features related to artificial intelligence, such as Apple Intelligence.
The analyst adds that even if the basic iPhone 17 model remains with 8 GB of storage, the entire iPhone 18 line will definitely get 12 GB in 2026.
Suppliers, including Micron and SK Hynix, which produce RAM for Apple, will also benefit from such changes.
Presentation date
The official presentation of the iPhone 17 series is expected in September 2025.
Recently, Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy showed newer mockups that give a better idea of what this ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air will look like.
