Garmin releases beta version for Fenix 7: fixes bugs with sleep timer and weight settings
Garmin has announced the release of beta version 21.11 for its Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2 smartwatches.
Here's What We Know
This update brings a number of fixes that improve the performance of the devices and resolve various bugs. In particular, the update fixes bugs related to Body Battery, the sleep recording tool, and Strength activity.
The fixes address an issue that caused Body Battery measurements and stress history to disappear previously. Also fixed is an issue that caused the Fenix 7 and compatible models to re-enter sleep mode after manually exiting it.
Garmin has paid special attention to the function for short naps: now the sleep timer no longer starts without pre-setting. As for the Strength activity, an issue has been fixed where the weight would change for no reason. This fix addresses an issue where the settings for custom text responses were reset to the default. Now these settings are saved correctly.
Importantly, this beta update temporarily disables the ECG feature for compatible smartwatches. The update is being distributed via OTA and has already reached about 50% of users. However, the exact date of the stable release of this version for all devices has not yet been announced.
How To Switch It On
To get the update manually, users can go to the settings menu: "System", "Software update", "Check for updates".
As a reminder, Garmin recently released beta version 14.07 for Venu 3 and vivoactive 5.
