Battlefield 6, the new instalment of the legendary shooter series, is preparing for a big announcement this summer. The developers are gradually revealing the details of the campaign, which takes inspiration from modern movie hits and TV series.

Here's What We Know

EA Motive creative director Roman Campos-Oriola said that the Battlefield 6 storyline campaign is partially inspired by the Lioness series, where Zoe Saldana plays a CIA agent who leads a team of female operators.

Another source of ideas was the military drama Civil War (2023), which shows the work of journalists in the midst of a fictional civil war in the United States. According to senior producer Philippe Ducharme, this film became a "good reference point" for the team for the tone and tension in the game.

The main theme of the campaign is "talented but ordinary people who find themselves in extraordinary situations". This allows for a deeper exploration of the relationships between the characters and shows the drama of the war from an unusual perspective. The developers promise that these elements will become the basis for the single-player storyline, providing players with not only spectacular action but also emotional moments.

EA Motive, which previously created the remake of Dead Space, emphasises that Battlefield 6 will be completely different in terms of pace and atmosphere. Nevertheless, the developers are striving to achieve a balance between cinematic tension and the series' signature dynamic gameplay.

The official release of Battlefield 6 is scheduled for the end of March 2026, and the exact date and subtitle of the game is expected to be announced during the summer presentations, probably at Summer Game Fest or Xbox Showcase. With the postponement of GTA 6 to May 2026, EA has an ideal window to launch its blockbuster, which could have a positive impact on sales and attention to the game.
