The authors of Battlefield have announced a large-scale pre-alpha server performance test that will allow even more players to try out the upcoming part of the legendary series and provide feedback.

Here's What We Know

Battlefield senior producer Philippe Ducharme also shared other news, revealing that the campaign is inspired by Alex Garland's 2024 film Civil War and the horror game Dead Space. We also know that the rolling mechanic from Battlefield 5 is making a comeback, but it's a little different from what fans remember. Aside from these few interesting details, we still don't know much about the game, but the upcoming playtest should shed light on many aspects.

Battlefield Studios announced: "As part of our ongoing efforts to test the upcoming Battlefield, starting on 23 May, we will be conducting a one-time 72-hour pre-alpha server performance test in Europe, North America, and select regions of Asia."

"Our primary goal for this test will be to test the performance and stability of the server as the number of players increases over the course of a full weekend. During this time, we will have a select group of maps and modes available for play."

The development team has not revealed which maps and modes will be available. However, players can expect invitations to be gradually sent out until 23 May.
