Boeing is preparing to significantly increase the production of its upgraded F-15EX Eagle II fighter jets, responding to growing international demand and federal funding under the new US defence budget.

Here's What We Know

The company plans to increase the F-15EX production rate to two aircraft per month by 2026. The current level is 1.5 aircraft per month, or about 18 fighters annually. The increase in production capacity will be made possible by the Cut the CoRRS strategy, which minimises rework and reduces production risks.

At the same time, the company has improved its logistics: part of the production was moved to St Louis, and digital solutions were integrated into the technological process. This helped to reduce delays that previously occurred due to changes in staff and quality defects in the first batch of aircraft.

The new US defence budget may provide financial support for production. It provides $3.1 billion to accelerate the F-15EX programme. If Congress passes the bill in the coming weeks, the funding could be approved as early as early June 2025.

As of May 2025, Boeing is fulfilling orders for the F-15EX from two major customers - the US Air Force and Israel. The United States has already ordered 48 of the 98 planned aircraft: six are being tested in Florida, and two more have been delivered to the Oregon Air National Guard.

In November 2024, Israel signed a $5.2 billion contract for 25 F-15IA fighters (the national modification of the F-15EX) with an option to expand to 50 units. Deliveries are expected from 2031 at a rate of 4-6 aircraft per year.
